Vietnamese and/or Chinese Translators
Silicon Valley Independent Living Center (SVILC) seeks Vietnamese and/or Chinese language translators willing to donate his or her professional services to assist in the translation of agency documents.
The ideal volunteer will have fluency in the Chinese or Vietnamese and English, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and the desire to help improve the lives of persons with disabilities. This is both a short term and an ongoing project as the need to translate new documents when they become available is required; the volunteer hours are flexible and most work can be done remotely. In exchange for his/her service, the volunteer will be acknowledged in SVILC's semi-yearly newsletter, and featured on the agency's web site.
SVILC programs and services address the comprehensive needs that individuals with disabilities have when gaining/increasing independence. These needs range from employment training and assistance to emotional support and advocacy. SVILC offers 33 services in all and is the only Independent Living Center in Santa Clara County . It is also the only agency in the area that provides comprehensive services for people with all types of disabilities.
